TO OUR VALUED CUSTOMERS : Please be informed that effective 15 January 2016, we are temporarily suspending Calibration and Dimensional Measurement Services of the Metrology Laboratory except In-plant calibration services.
The suspension is due to the renovation of the Metrology Laboratory. We will resume our regular services on April 2016.
Metalcasting Industry Roadmap Validated at MIRDC
The MIRDC and the Philippine Metalcasting Association, Inc. (PMAI) held the validation of the metalcasting industry roadmap on Oct. 6, 2015 at the MIRDC platinum auditorium. The key officials of PMAI including selected industry players joined MIRDC to discuss the roadmap requirements of the Board of Investments. Dr. Adolfo Jesus R. Gopez, the president of the Society of Metallurgical Engineers of the Philippines and of Feati University actively facilitated the "battle of the brains" deliberation. Read more.

The Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) have aligned special events today, December 15, 2015 that will highlight the public-private partnership of the metals and allied engineering industries and the Department of Science and Technology especially MIRDC. The events are the "FGD on the Competitiveness Roadmap of the Tool and Die Industry of the Philippines" and the "PARTNERSHAPE Conference 2015." Read more.
AIAP Encourages Organizations to Invest in the Aerospace
The Aerospace Industries Association of the Philippines (AIAP) together with the Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC) of the Department of Science and Technology, hosted the "Aerospace Forum" on July 31, 2015 at the MIRDC Silver Auditorium from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The purpose of which is to inspire and challenge the various companies to go into and partner with the aerospace industry. Mr. John T. Lee, President of the AIAP, assures prospective investors of a successful venture if they entrust resources in this endeavor. "Investing in this business is essentially going into a high-risk, high returns playing field. By highly specialized, we mean that the aerospace business is not just for anybody. You need to have the required accreditations, the skills, the capacity. You have to be one of the best," according to Dr. Amelia P. Guevara, DOST Undersecretary for Research and Development. MIRDC Training Program Produces 1st Batch Of Graduates
A total of 20 beneficiaries of free training proudly received their certificates of training during their graduation held on March 6, 2015 at the Platinum Auditorium, DMSC, MIRDC, Bicutan, Taguig City. The trainee-graduates make up the first batch of the training on Die and Mold Designing and Making under the project “Establishment of a Die and Mold Solution Center in Support of the Components and Parts Manufacturing Industry.”
The project is implemented by the MIRDC under the DOST’s Makinarya at Teknolohiya Para sa Bayan (MakiBayan) initiative. Such training aims to help the participants to be able to identify different types of materials used in the die/mold fabrication, as well as to design, fabricate and repair simple and complex dies and molds using CAD/CAM in accordance with ISO standard.
